Wind Turbines

About SD6 Wind Turbine

The SD6 wind turbine comes in two colours, black and white. Black is the preferred colour as they blend into the countryside better.  A single SD6 is often used to power an off-grid house with a diesel generator as backup.  The average house consumes around ten units of energy per day (or 3600 units/year).  The SD wind appropriately sited will produce enough for service power with a little left over to go towards heating, perhaps helping to offset oil, gas or biomass.

SD6 Energy Production Curve

Most sites have an average of somewhere between 5m/s and 7m/s and produce between 10,000. units (kWh) and 17,000 units (kWh) per annum.

Using the NOABL wind map it is possible to see what the wind in your area is.
